Company S-1 was founded in the spring semester of 2006 by Cadet Major Carol Noble and Cadet Captain Justin Hatton as a gender integrated Navy/Marine outfit intended for students with a technical major.

Upperclassmen in S-1 were comprised of the finest cadets from all over the Corps who volunteered their time and energy to produce what has since become one of the most successful units in the Corps.

The class of 2010 will be the first Spartan class to finish out their entire Corps career, from fish to senior, within Company S-1.
